Happy Days – Restaurant Opens
Happy Days Ole Time Soda Fountain and Grille opened in December 9, 2009. It’s one of several new restaurants opening downtown. The renovation project took 6 months which included exposing and refinishing a unique beach wood floor. The City Council approves a smoking ban in public buildings – June 2009. Update: The smoking ban becomes effective September 1, 2009.
Social Media – Brings People Downtown
With the advent of new social media tools, downtown merchants are building better relationships and customer service. The popular tools in use include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, eVite, blogs, and web sites. “It’s extremely effective marketing”, said one merchant at the Uptown/Downtown meeting. Bank of Campbellsville Building – 2nd Floor Renovation
The Bank of Campbellsville Building gets a 2nd story renovation to house a new apartment. The floorplan is a 2 bedroom, 1-bath, with gourmet kitchen. The interior walls are exposed historic brick. The exterior was refinished and re-painted with period accurate colors.
